The Library provides access to thousands of journals in electronic format. Some of these journals are electronic versions of journals which are held in the Library.


Newsstand is the Library’s newspaper database and provides access to over 300 UK newspapers including many national newspapers. You can access articles dating back to the 1980s and print or save any article you find.

Springerlink ejournals

Access articles from 2,500 journals in 11 subject areas including science, technology, engineering, medicine and some social science content. All articles can be printed or saved.

ProQuest Historical Newspapers

ProQuest Historical Newspapers provides access to the complete and original text of three high quality newspapers.

Magazines Online

Magazines Online provides 14 key journals for your studies covering Business, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English, Geography, History, Law, Physics, Religion, Sociology, Physics, PE, Psychology. Articles go back 18 years which you can print off. This is an essential resource for Level 3 students.


This resource is ideal for early years and education with six high quality magazines with 1000s of articles that you can print or save. Intered is a unique online resource providing lesson plan ideas, news, reports and features for teachers and education professionals working in early years, primary and secondary education.

Media Magazine

Is an excellent resource for Media Studies and Sociology of the Media. It includes a high quality online magazine, 1,000s of fully searchable articles you can save or print, and a media blog to help with assignments. It is only available through the Library.

Vogue Archive

The Vogue Archive contains all copies of Vogue magazine (US edition) from 1892 to the present day, reproduced in high-resolution color page images. More than 400,000 pages are included, constituting a treasure trove of the work from the greatest designers, photographers, stylists, and illustrators of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. It is a superb resource for Media Studies, Creative Arts and Social Science.
