The following Statements of Service set out our provision and our commitment to ensuring that our service is fully supportive and responsive:

Statement of Service – Students

We will:

  • Publicise our range of services and opening times and keep you informed of any changes to these.
  • Provide a comfortable, friendly and stimulating study environment.
  • Support your research and IT skills to enable you to find, evaluate, manage and communicate information, for study, work and everyday life.
  • Provide access to a range of relevant and quality resources (for example books, ebooks, journals, specialist online databases) to support your studies and personal development.
  • Provide one to one help and support from subject specialists and via the Library website (accessible all times).
  • Respond positively to different needs, and ensure all students have equal access to all of our services.
  • Develop and improve services based on your needs, comments and feedback.

Statement of Service – Academic Staff

We will:

  • Publicise our range of services and opening times and keep you informed of any changes to these.
  • Provide a comfortable, friendly and stimulating study environment.
  • Provide subject specialists to work with you to carefully select and maintain a range of current, relevant and quality learning materials (for example books, ebooks, journals, specialist online databases) to reflect the needs of your course.
  • Provide a range of research skills and referencing drop in and timetabled sessions to help with essays, assignments and specific projects.
  • Provide print and online guides (via the Library website) to support teaching and your learners’ research and assignment production.
  • Develop and improve services based on your needs, comments and feedback.
