Internet Research Skills Tutorials

 

 

Develop your research skills with the interactive tutorials below, which are provided by a variety of education websites. Click on the logo to visit the site.

 

Virtual Training Suite logo

The Virtual Training Suite offers a range of tutorials across many different subject areas (over 60 in total). The tutorials are interactive with things like quizzes and exercises that will help you improve your skills in finding good quality information on the Internet and making the most of Library resources.

Open University Safari logo

Safari is provided by the Open University and is a very detailed tutorial on using a range of different Library and Internet resources. It covers skills in finding, evaluating and using online information.  Please note that some parts of the tutorial will not be accessible as they require login passwords.

 

University of Manchester Library image

The University of Manchester Library provides a range of tutorials including : Finding the good stuff: evaluating your sources ; Getting results: guides to searching databases. Some of these tutorials may prompt you to login to University of Manchester Library resources which will not be available to you.
